Welcome

Welcome to StudentWebLab.com, a site created to accompany your Web Technologies degree at Coastal Carolina Community College. This site was created as a means to enhance your learning with a live website with which you can upload files and experiment with different aspects of Web design.

Getting Started

Your public-facing Web address is 152.27.35.6/~username. For each of your classes, append the class name to this address (i.e. 152.27.35.6/~username/web115). You can also use the links on the left to view your site as the public would see it.

Please remember that this is a live site, and that anyone with your Web address can view your work. Please do not post any inappropriate material or information that you do not want the general public to have.

FTP Instructions

Use the following settings to set up your FTP client:
  • FTP username: username
  • FTP server: ftp.lastname.studentweblab.com/classfolder
  • FTP server port: 21
Notes:
  1. Your username is your lastname truncated to 8 characters.
  2. Be sure to set up different sites for each of your classes. Files uploaded to your root folder will not be seen by instructors of your different classes.
Alternatively, you can upload your files directly via cPanel. Type 152.27.35.6/cpanel into the address bar of your browser and enter the username and password as provided by your instructor. --Are we really going to give them this access and should we explain all of their options here?--

Additional Information

Be sure to log in to Blackboard for any additional information from your instructor.
